“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” ~ Jeremiah 29:11

“Blooming Hope” is the 4th painting in the 5-part series “In His Abiding”. In Jeremiah 29:11, God is speaking to the exiled Jews in Babylon. They did not know or did not remember His thoughts toward them, so God wanted to state them in writing through Jeremiah’s letter. Today, when we read this verse we see another aspect of God’s character; His intentionality towards us, His children. He shows us that yes, his thoughts are far higher than ours, yet we can rest assured that He has thoughts towards us. His plans for our lives are greater than we could even imagine. He promises that when we come to Him and lean upon His plans for us and not “our own plan”, we will have hope, we will have a future in His prosperity, and He will guide us every step of the way.
